Nigel has been representing Kidlington and the neighbouring villages passionately during the last five years. He is currently on Gosford and Water Eaton Parish Council, is Chairman of Kidlington and District Community Forum (Police liaison) and sits on the management committee of Kidlington Children's hub, having helped them raise over £100,000 over the last 3 years. He has previously been District Councillor for Kidlington West Division and Chairman of Kidlington Parish Council.
As a Councillor, Nigel focuses on supporting individuals and takes a major interest in local community groups. He is particularly interested in education and supporting local schools. His wife is Assistant Principal at West Kidlington Primary School and together they work closely with The Childrens Hub, both being part of their management team. He also helps support local vulnerable families by collecting and delivering their weekly foodbank packages. He is currently working with Gosford Hill Secondary School in an attempt to get significant funding to ideally build a new School or at least modernise the buildings to be more efficient and become more inspiring as a learning environment.
Through his role as Chairman of Kidlington and District Community Forum he is working closely with Thames Valley Police, other emergency services and Local Authorities to promote key issues and support facilities that are available. This includes working with Age UK and local Banks to raise fraud awareness amongst the elderly.
A native of Oxfordshire, Nigel was brought up in Headington and then Bicester before moving to Kidlington 13 years ago.
Nigel works in the finance industry. Outside of work and helping the community he is a keen sports fan, being a season ticket holder at Oxford United. Nigel was elected to the County Council following May 2021's election to represent the division of Kirtlington & Kidlington North
