Henley’s MP, John Howell, has welcomed plans by the
Oxfordshire Primary Care Trust (PCT) to take forward the
re-development of the town’s Townlands Hospital.
The plans envisage that all the services currently provided
on site will continue and that other services may be
developed in the future in response to local needs. A
series of local meetings and exhibitions will take place
during September to allow local input and will be
accompanied by a consultation leaflet.
John Howell said:
“This is good news both for local people and for staff at
the hospital. It is the result of a lot of hard work
by many in and around Henley, including the Townlands
Steering Committee, and the PCT and I congratulate them.
I hope that everyone will now participate in the
consultation exercise which will take place.
“Hospitals and their services cannot stand still. This
will be a good opportunity to make sure that Townlands meets
the needs of the area for the future.”
