Strictly speaking, MPs are there to help only
with matters for which Parliament or central Government is
responsible. For many matters, the appropriate first step would
be to contact your councillor.
When you ring for a surgery appointment, we
will spend a few minutes with you to try to understand your
concern or problem and to make sure that I am the best person to
help you. When I am not, we will direct you to your local
parish, district or county councillor or the appropriate
organisation to help. We may also be able to help you without
you having to wait for a surgery appointment. We will always try
to find the quickest and most effective way to help.
